BigBear.ai is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to test Appian, JavaScript, and SQL Server-based solutions and system data for accuracy and adherence to documented requirements and software development best practices. This position supports a program for the U.S. Army and can be 100% remote within the United States.

This individual will work iteratively with the business and development team, through all aspects of the software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, and testing using current testing methodologies and tools.

• Create and maintain test case templates.
• Create test cases, scenarios, and supporting data based on customer requirements and design documentation.
• Contribute to defining software requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Become an expert in the business rules implemented in the solution.
• Participate in sprint planning with business analysts and developers to ensure the business requirements are understood fully. Assist the team with story point estimation.
• Perform Functional, Regression, Performance, Usability, Security, and User Acceptance testing to validate the software complies with standards and documented requirements.
• Log and track defects in JIRA from initial discovery to closure, working with developers to assess a defect’s severity and impact.
• Perform triage on incidents reported by the customer.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, project team members, and the customer.
• Learn and apply new testing tools, technologies, and methodologies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Appian and the Appian approach to testing.

• Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret level security clearance
• Bachelor's Degree with 2 to 5 years of overall experience; (additional 6 years' experience in lieu of degree)
• Minimum 2 years' experience testing web-based applications
• Experience creating and maintaining software test cases
• Strong experience with a Software Lifecycle Management Tool, including artifact creation and workflow management required.

• Experience testing an Appian-based application.
• Experience with JIRA.
• Experience with an Agile framework, like Scrum.
• Automated end-to-end testing experience.
• A background in test-driven development (TDD).
• Knowledge and experience writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with back-end testing, database testing, and test harness creation.
• An active Secret clearance.
