Job Title: Web Developer (Python & Java)

Location: Austin, TX

Duration: Long Term

Visa: USC, GCH, GC-EAD, H1B’s.

Job Description:

The Python Web Developer performs complex web development work, including development, coding, code validation, accessibility remediation and planning in order to produce accessible web projects using the Django framework.

Required Skills:

· 5 years of experience in web or software development. Experience may have occurred concurrently.

· 3 years of experience using Javascript.

· 2 years of Sixty semester credit hours from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Web Design, Web Development, Web Accessibility, Programming, Emerging Media, Graphic Design, Computer or related field.

· 1 year of experience web development with Python.

· 1 additional year web development or web design work may substitute for thirty semester hours of the required experience, with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours.

Preferred Skills:

· 1 year of Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate’s degree with major coursework in Web Design, Web Development, Programming, Emerging Media, Graphic Design, Computer or related field.

· 1 year of experience with developing in PHP, designing and using REST APIs, with SQL database, with Django or other python web frameworks, using the Linux command line for web development.

· 1 year Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python for creation of web pages/web sites, with ability to code for web browsers across multiple platforms and versions. Knowledge of web standards and accessibility requirements with ability to use validation.

· 1 year Skill in developing Python scripts for web development.

· 1 year of Ability to code, test, validate, and troubleshoot web pages. Ability to code, test, validate, and troubleshoot python scripts. Ability to turn wireframes and graphic designs into working web pages.

V. OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

· Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python for creation of web pages/web sites, with ability to code for web browsers across multiple platforms and versions;

· Knowledge of web standards and accessibility requirements with ability to use validation tools and techniques.

VI. ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Computer will be provided. Must be able to pick up equipment at TPWD HQ office at 4200 Smith School Road in Austin, TX 78744. If working remotely, must have reliable internet.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
