Job description
Doran Jones Inc. is looking for an experienced Python 3 Developer to participate in projects for multi-national financial services firms.
In this role, you will work closely with business partners to define strategies for technical solutions, determine requirements, and develop functional designs, objectives, and existing systems infrastructure. You will participate in the design, development, and implementation of large and complex enterprise-wide applications, which may enable you to learn new technologies. You will work closely with users and testers to ensure requirements and test plans serve customer needs.
W2 only- Hybrid (Jersey City, New York City, or CLT)
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience with Python (Python 3 preferred)
- 4+ years of experience with Relational Databases (MSSQL or Oracle a plus)
- Working experience in Spring Python (current Ver. 1.2 a plus, IoC, Aspects)
- Strong UI development skills with the ability to conceptualize and execute a best-in-class User Experience (Angular, NodeJS)
- Excellent problem-solving skills, willingness to take ownership and risks, and enthusiasm in the face of technical challenges
- In-depth knowledge of Agile Software Development practices and how to leverage these to streamline project execution
- Skilled in writing Unit Tests or Test-Driven Development (Robot, Pytest, or Unittest)
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Financial services industry experience in Capital Markets
- Good understanding of the market, credit risk, and risk algorithms and techniques
Preferred Experience
- Working experience in Python design patterns (Creational, Structural, Behavioral)
- Experience with JBoss/Tomcat/Apache application servers
- Experience working on Risk platforms such as SecDB, Genesis, Quartz, or Athena preferred
