Job Summary
The Foodbuy SES (Supplies, Equipment, & Services) Compliance Department is responsible for providing quotations and placing Purchase Orders for kitchen equipment, smallwares, vending, office coffee, and asset purchases. The Purchasing Specialist position will support all Compass sectors.
The position is based out of our Charlotte, NC office and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Internal/External teams and field operations to obtain accurate information to provide vendors during the purchasing process.
- Research and provide quotations to Compass units utilizing Foodbuy compliant programs.
- Work closely with approved distribution channels to prepare quotations, provide equipment specification sheets, compare like-for-like equipment specifications, monitor competitive pricing, and freight costs.
- Work with Compass operations to transition non-compliant purchases to preferred and/or Primary programs.
- Utilize MyAdmin system to create Purchase Orders and research order history.
- Work with manufactures and distribution to maintain catalogs and pricing.
- Act as a primary resource for Compass operations, vendors, and Compass Account Managers to provide order status, resolve issues and manage suppliers to ensure deliveries and installation schedules are completed.
- Log and track Capex orders effectively to assist Category Development in understanding sped data and patterns to optimize sector purchases.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years foodservice industry experience desired
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; related experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
- Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Edge) required
- Working knowledge of SAP and AutoQuotes preferred
- Understanding of business analytics and application of real data to value generating purchasing activities
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and solve issues effectively
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
- Experience meeting stated timelines and deadlines
- Collaborative - works well as a member of a team
- Consistently displays strong integrity and ethics
