Overview:
Our Southwest Florida Purchasing Team is growing!
This position is an immediate need and open to candidates preferably within a day trip/willing to occassionally travel to the Sarasota, FL office.
We are looking for purchasing experience within the construction industry.


The Purchasing Manager will manage an extensive Contractor Buy-out/Purchasing Process. The successful candidate will work closely with Trade Contractors, Vendors, and Jobsite Personnel.

Responsibilities:
  • Managing the pre-bid and post-bid process for all trade contractors
  • Creating bid documents, contracts, purchase orders, consultant agreements and amendments
  • Expediting all contract documents sent out for execution
  • Overseeing evaluation and approval of subcontractors for optimum quality and value
  • Developing positive relationships with Trade Contractors, Vendors, Jobsite Personnel and Internal Company Department Personnel as well as Gilbane''s other Regional Offices

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 15 years of purchasing or construction experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency is Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Suretrak programs
