Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) is a private non-profit corporation, organized and designated by the State of Ohio to be the planning, coordinating and administrative agency for federal and state aging programs in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina Counties. It is one of twelve Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) in the state organized together with local service provider organizations and the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) to form the state's public aging services network. The network works together to create opportunities for older Ohioans to receive needed home and Public Health services and support; and to age successfully in their own homes and communities.

Position Overview: The Public Health Outreach Coordinator works collaboratively with the Director of Public Health, Director of Community Outreach and Advocacy, and Director of Development & Planning to build and strengthen WRAAA Public Health outreach activities. This position's primary duty is to perform work directly related to the successful operation of the Agency. The Public Health Outreach Coordinator will be working primarily in the field doing community outreach with minimal office (in office or home) time once the program is up and running. Accordingly, the employee must exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
Job Duties:
- Generate, develop, and maintain new and existing relationships with community organizations, businesses and other Agency stakeholders enabling the Agency to build independent and collaborative outreach, educational and development partnerships.
- Responds to all requests for materials from employees, community members and organizations.
- Generate and secure opportunities for the WRAAA to increase visibility in the community through community vaccine events, wellness engagements, permanent information kiosks and information booths.
- Maintain upkeep of permanent literature kiosks.
- Schedule and organize logistics of Agency personnel to attend agency presentations, health fairs and other Public Health outreach activities.
- Assist Agency personnel at vaccine clinics and wellness fairs, attend networking and other Public Health events increasing WRAAA presence at such events.
- Maintain event databases in which the Agency can use to distribute literature and promotional information.
- Identify available print resources that WRAAA can promote at Public Health events.
- Work collaboratively with all departments to design, produce and distribute WRAAA electronic and hardcopy newsletters/flyers and other promotional materials as needed.
- Work collaboratively with all departments to coordinate the planning/support of WRAAA annual events.
- Work collaboratively with Development Coordinator to coordinate WRAAA Expos.
- Organize internal logistics required to produce the WRAAA Resource Guide.
- Work collaboratively with IT to maintain updated WRAAA On-line Event Calendar.
- Identify Public Health / provider special events to post on WRAAA Events web page.
- Serve as internal person who can ensure that WRAAA staff has access to print resources and information that will help expose them to the newest Public Health programs, services, and products.
- Maintain training to support use of technology programs required for communication.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- All staff have the responsibility and authority to propose ways to improve quality and to fully participate in quality improvement efforts.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. and three to five years in a similar position, Licensed Community Health Worker.
- Excellent communication skills; written, oral and interpersonal.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Must be proficient in MS Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to move boxes and display materials.
- Must be comfortable and able to drive throughout our five-county service area.
- Must have a car available during work hours, a valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto liability insurance.
