POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Part-time Adult Fitness Coach

PERFORMANCE

PROFILE SOURCE: Fitness Professional

DEPARTMENT: Special Teams

REPORTS TO: Special Teams Department Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Serve TNT’s mission by building and fostering relationships in a fun, positive, and safe environment. Adult Fitness coaches create and/or implement age and ability-appropriate activities to enhance skill development and achieve the desired skill objectives.

Adult Fitness programming is scheduled year-round, between 11:00a-5:30p Monday through Thursday and Fridays between 12-2p. You may be asked to work alongside family members, volunteers, Direct Support Professionals, higher education professors, university students, and more.

All Adult Fitness classes contain elements of monostructural movements, basic gymnastics, weightlifting, and competition. These classes are group based however many require individual instruction. Depending on the class you teach and the adults in that class, you may be asked to teach activities that focus on the nine foundational performance movements, socialization skills, and task, time, or load bearing specific activities.

TNT’s Adult Fitness Coaches may work in the following programs:

• No Limits Fitness - Fitness classes for adults that require physical and intellectual modifications.

• Parkinson’s Performance Boxing – Fitness classes for adults fighting back against Parkinson’s Disease.

  
  

Skills/Knowledge Required or Work-Related Experience:

All candidates must have a passion for building relationships and positively influencing individuals through movement. Must have a basic understanding of personality types, physiology, and anatomy.

Preferred but not required:

• Experience coaching CrossFit, Personal Trainer, or other performance and life fitness activities

• Attending, interested in attending or graduated from university for: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Education, Psychology, Developmental Adaptive Physical Education, Exercise Science, Coaching, or Special Education.

  
  

TNT will train all required skills and certifications.

Coaches are Responsible to:

• Unlock Potential while learning all content needed to teach the curriculum

• Complete administrative tasks associated with scheduled classes (attendance, skill tracking, evaluations, etc.)

• Keep customers safe by teaching age/skill-appropriate activities and enforcing gym safety rules.

• Complete all cleaning duties and gym reset tasks.

• Stay current with upcoming TNT Events.

• Maintain all required certifications pertinent to position.

  
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Physical tasks such as moving, adjusting, and setting up equipment upwards of 50lbs.

• Ability to position self in multiple ways to ensure safety through performance of specific skills.

• TNT is a fast-paced environment, and the successful candidate will be able to adapt quickly and be a quick study and self-reliant.
