Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
The Brookline Center seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with strong clinical skills in caring for children and adolescents who is enthusiastic about working in a multidisciplinary, community outpatient setting. The position includes diagnostic evaluations, urgent care evaluations, ongoing psychopharmacology services, and some psychotherapy in our newly renovated outpatient offices in Brookline, MA and well as remotely using telehealth.
This position could be negotiated as part- or full-time (25 to 40 hours per week). There is flexibility around hours and focus of work, which can be weighted towards ongoing care or urgent assessments. The position would be designed for a hybrid of virtual (telehealth) and in-person care.

Key responsibilities:
- Diagnostic assessments to evaluate patients' psychiatric and medical needs.
- Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications in collaboration with Brookline Center physicians who are available for supervision.
- Provide psychoeducation, counseling, health promotion and preventive services.
- Communicate as appropriate with patients’ relatives, collateral contacts, and fellow professionals in the community to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Provide physical health screening and primary health care monitoring (e.g., weight, blood pressure).
- Provide clinical consultation to peers and other health care professionals.
- Provide clear and thorough documentation in accordance with the Brookline Center’s policies.
- Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited educational institution is required.
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (PMHNP) certification is required.
- Hold a valid DEA and MCSR.
- Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in good standing.
- At least one-year post-degree inpatient and/or outpatient psychiatric nursing experience required.
- Experience treating children/adolescents or working with children/adolescents is highly desirable.
- Strong clinical and communication skills.
- Ability to document in an electronic medical record system.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to provide psychiatric care via telehealth.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving in a community setting and working with historically underserved populations.
Hours and Location:
The position is based in our newly renovated outpatient offices in Brookline and includes both virtual and in-person services. The position is 25 to 40 hours per week and includes one evening until 8 PM, of which a minimum 65% will be direct patient care.
