General Statement:
The Package Art Production Proofreader is responsible for the review and approval of labeling manuscripts, artwork and approval of printer’s proofs against the final approved artwork for multiple domestic, international, and private brands required for manufacturing. He/she needs to have an exceptional attention to detail and strong comprehension of visual communication.

Responsibilities:

As a Package Art Production Proofreader, you will:

• General proofreading:

o Check spelling, grammar, and punctuation

o Ensure copy for readability and clarity

o Ensure UPC code, human readable and orientation are correct

• Compare manuscript and artwork to brand template

• Ensure labels are accurately transposed from the manuscript to the artwork for labels, shrink labels, overstickers, individual folding cartons, bar wrappers, variety packs, foils

o Ensure established guidelines are correct including product logo, registration marks, illustrations, product images, graphics, supplement box format, branding, etc.

• Validate information is transposed correctly and present:

o Symbols linking to disclaimers

o Facts Panel transposed (including formatting)

o Icons / Images referenced on manuscript (e.g. trademark, pill)

• Validate identifying label information:

o Brand

o Bulk Number

o Item Number

o Net Quantity / Count Size

• Accurately review printer’s proof for various component labeling presentations confirming consistency between vendor digital proof and approved artwork for dieline, template specification, logos, spacing, line breaks, required unvarnished and coated areas

• Manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment and easily adapt to changing priorities

• Keen eye for typographical errors, layout inconsistencies, kerning and letter spacing

• Maintain efficient workflow procedures and meet accuracy requirements

• Retrieve approved artwork from an Oracle driven data hub.

• Perform other job duties as assigned

Qualifications:
What will you need?

• Associates Degree with minimum 5 years’ related experience

• Experience with proofreading supplement labeling or similar industry preferred

• Good working knowledge of digital, flexo and offset printer proofs

• Knowledge of the manufacturing industry as it relates to production art files is a plus

Skills:

• Excellent proofing skills are required

• Software knowledge: Lotus Notes, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Acrobat.

• Familiarity with Oracle and AS400 a plus

• Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational and communication skills

• Strong time management skills; ability to prioritize, juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $23.03 - $27.64 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Education:

• Associate (Required)

Experience:

• proofreading related: 5 years (Required)
• Oracle/AS400: 1 year (Preferred)
• Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, and Acrobat: 1 year (Preferred)
