What does a Project Manager – Supply Chain do at Rinnai?
Responsible for project delivery from the definition of needs through project execution and completion. Projects could be based at any Rinnai location or area of the country.
What you will do:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for project planning and anticipating in-process timelines which are designed to meet internal and customer timetables - Accomplish project plans on time, within budget, while meeting all specified quality standards.
- Responsible for continuously monitoring project progress with respect to the status of the plan and the budget and providing status reports to Senior Management.
- Represent Supply Chain during Engineering Change proposals and promote best practices in regard to packaging and shipping.
- Provides reporting of planned and un-planned deviations from the original project plan that are brought about by external changes or due to internal changes in the project schedule.
- Identifies issues which suggest the need for additional resources other than those initially planned for a specific project relative to manning, materials, methods, or equipment scheduling and allocation of capacity.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with respect to the various project participants as well as with company internal Sales, Engineering, Planning, Finance and Operational leadership.
- Creates and continually updates Gantt charts, Excel spreadsheets or other appropriate tools to monitor and manage project timelines and all elements of project cost.
- Responsible for bringing the project to a successful close, which may include creating an end-of-project report or evaluation document, holding project completion meetings and activities, and capturing relevant learning experiences that can be applied to future projects to accomplish future process and/or procedural improvements.
- Generates multiple types of documents, as required, including specifications, contracts, schedules, project reports, communication (email) records, design, layout, and specifications, meeting agendas, meeting minutes and status reports.
- Organize and lead Supply Chain Process Control reviews for significant design and/or process changes.
- Manage new Product Development implementation for distribution, shipping and transportation.
- Drive quality improvement and cost savings projects.
- Work on projects with external resources or 3rd party contractors.
REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s Degree in IE/Mfg Engineering preferred
- 5+ years of Project Management experience planning, leading and managing multiple projects within a fast-paced, high-volume Manufacturing environment
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar Project Engineering Professional (CPeP) Certification preferred
- Lean Experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge and experience with ISO 9000 Quality System.
SKILLS
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy to include but not limited to MS Office products
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong Systems knowledge
- Working experience with ERP, WMS, TMS, MES.
- Ability to provide layouts and drawing.

WAREHOUSE SUPPORT
- Participate in the creation of shop floor work instructions, including: (specifications, engineering changes, process control, and tooling definition/requirements).
- Provide focused & effective leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factors risks and addressing quality issues.
- Participate in lean initiatives.
OTHER
- Awareness and compliance of Company Policies and Procedures
