Castaway Construction & Restoration LLC (CCR) is a locally owned and operated construction company based on Maui and Oahu, serving all of Hawaii. CCR is the parent company within Castaway Group, which includes subsidiaries Hawaii Electrical Solutions LLC, Cooling Hawaii LLC, Island Tile & Stone LLC, and Island Commercial Doors & Windows. We are seeking a full-time Project Manager to plan, develop, coordinate, and manage on-site construction engineering activities for our projects.
Primary Function
Provide overall project management, direction, plan, develop, coordinate, and manage construction activities for a large project or several small to medium sized projects, develop new business opportunities relative to a particular Client, group of Clients or geographical area and generate bid proposals as required.
Preferred Experience
- 5 Years Project Management Experience
- BS Construction Management or equivalent.
Principal Responsibilities
- Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives, other contractors, etc.
- Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site, investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Respond in a timely fashion to all customer/client inquiries. Provides timely schedule and other communication and updates to clients/customer/ownership.
- Plan and organize key field staff and labor through supervising manager.
- Manage expectations of all field employees and designated project coordinators and uphold all core values, vision and the core focus of the company.
- Manage the budget for the company by analyzing the profit & losses weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc. and take preventative and corrective actions to maintain the budget and keep the business profitable.
- Create and maintain accurate and detailed customer records in company software systems, including monthly billings, project forecasts, spending to budget, and project schedules.
- Interface with company departments, such as Accounting, Purchasing, Inventory, Estimating, Operations, HR, etc., as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule.
- Represent company in project meetings and maintain upmost positive and professional representation of company and timely communication to clients and subordinates.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts (materials and equipment procurement, fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client.
- Complete and maintain Project Templates, including Proposals, SPS Sheets, Scope of Work, Material Vendor Vetting Report, Change Order Log, etc.
- Review Accounts Receivables reports with the support of Accounting and follow up with clients for contract payments.
- Assess scopes of work and resources required to successfully complete revised/added scopes and prepare RFIs and complete estimates for change orders with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, contracting, and the like. Ensure timely submission/delivery to client representatives for approval.
- Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, etc.).
- Work with onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, inventory, etc. to accomplish project and company goals.
- Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
- Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
- Assume responsibility for productivity of labor, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
- Perform other job-related duties, as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 4 Year College Degree
- Must have Driver’s License and good driving record
- 5 years Project Management experience in Construction
- Knowledge of contract negotiations, construction project financials, and revenue implications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) and Construction Management reporting software.
- Must have minimum 10-year applicable work experience (will be verified by request of references)
- Good communications and writing skills required.
- Planning and organizational skills are required in order to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Engineering Degree or Construction Management, Civil Engineering Degree a PLUS
- Available to be interviewed in person.
- MUST LIVE & RESIDE ON MAUI. Please do not submit your application if you do not live or plan on living on Maui. Castaway Construction & Restoration, LLC will not cover moving expenses.
