Job Purpose:
The Project Manager works directly with internal and external customers in the efficient planning and execution of all facets of a new major program launch. These implementations include projects concerning major software development, hardware purchasing and installation, facility buildout and improvements, training and public information.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage and coordinate concurrent facets of complex plans to achieve successful program implementation, including requirements gathering, functional specification writing, resource estimates, schedule development, budget development, development team meetings, progress monitoring, progress reporting, product release, and program implementation.
- Apply product development process discipline including WBS, schedule, SOWs, risk management plans, requirements traceability and scope management.
- Document, distribute, maintain and obtain approvals for Requirements Functional Specification (RFS), including preliminary system architecture and conceptual design.
- Assist in developing Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), coordinate approval efforts, and then assist in execution of the ATP.
- Manage change requests as needed for the duration of the implementation project.
- Manage customer input for projects as assigned, including all customer feedback, tracking and resolution.
- Serve as a resource director by working in close cooperation with the project management team and the engineering department head to manage the department's shared human resources to best achieve company interests.
- Serve as primary interface to program operations management regarding engineering resource requests.
- Manage all project related activities and decisions to achieve on-schedule, on-budget, and on-quality project delivery
Requirements:
- Proven ability to successfully manage product and software development and support projects to conclusion, meeting or exceeding expectations in terms of quality, timing, and cost.
- Knowledge and experience with computerized tools for creating and maintaining project management documentation (specifically, Microsoft Project and Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge and experience with systems engineering practices, requirements development and management.
- Skilled in working with diverse organizations, understanding customer requests, communicating with internal/external customers and organizing requirements definition
- Skilled in best practices and coordination of project management activities and tools.
- Has ability to create templates, project documentation, and concise report updates as directed.
- Highly skilled in the use of scheduling tools and techniques for tracking budgets, resource assignments, timelines, and quality.
- Proven ability to understand assignment, create execution plan, obtain and analyze data as needed, and effectively manage effort to deliver solution that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and problem-solve.
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to ensure successful interaction with executive and senior management, internal and external customers, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of marketing or business development a plus.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- PMP Certification and/or Agile certification
- Strong leadership experience and teaming abilities
- Excellent, demonstrable problem-solving skills
- Ability to orchestrate complexity, push for results and marshal resources to accomplish goals
- Minimum three years management experience in the Engineering/IT field, including development work and interactions with customers
- Five to eight years of project management experience in an Information Technology, technical product, or equivalent environment; experience in using project management tools, managing large projects, and experience with major software/hardware/field implementations. Successfully delivered large technical transformation programs that contain a significant software and or engineered product implementation component

Pay: Up to $100,000.00 per year
