Position Summary:
The Project Manager, JHS PMO serves as the Project Manager assigned to work on system-wide projects which will require the dedication of productive time, ability and attention to the business of the Jackson Health System. The Project Manager shall perform all duties in a professional, confidential, ethical and business manner. The duties will be outlined by the Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for the Jackson Health System.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Leads projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scope, budget estimations, risk mitigation plans, and project implementation plans. Aligns projects to business goals, develops detailed project plans, manages teams, achieves milestones and communicates results across a stakeholder audience. Coordinates internal and external resources and ensures that projects remain within scope, schedule and defined budgets. Builds and engages multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction and motivation. Establishes and maintains relationships with appropriate client stakeholders providing day to day contact on project status and changes. Develops and maintains partnerships with outside resources including third party vendors. Analyzes project progress, and when necessary adjusts scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements. Role models behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Qualifications - External
Experience:
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience. Previous experience on project management in healthcare or related industry is preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
License Certification:
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required.
Knowledge Skill Abilities:
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
Physical Demands:
Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Jobs in this group are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: extended use of computers, preparing and analyzing data and analytics, and other components of a typical office environment. Work Environment:
Jobs in this group are required to function in a fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations. Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public. Function is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures. Possible exposure to various environments such as: communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a hospital and medical office environment. May wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask when exposed to hospital environment outside of office. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $141,000.00 per year
