Title: Project Coordinator - Michigan Child Collaborative Care
$60,000 - $65,000 / Posted Thru: 9-28-22

Work Location: Remote/Virtual - Requires Michigan Residency

Purpose: The individual in this role will coordinate specific activities delineated in the Human Resource and Services Administration (HRSA), Pediatric Mental Health Care Access Program, funded project, Michigan Child Collaborative Care-CONNECT. The coordinator will also be responsible for data management for specific objectives and HRSA reporting during the grant period (ending September 30, 2023). The coordinator will work with the project Leadership (Project Director, Data Manager, Program Director and Manager) and Advisory Committee as well as Mental Health Services to Children and Families Personnel regarding the implementation of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Organize information technology needs, logistics, scheduling, distributing materials, data management and dissemination for professional development objectives of the HRSA funded Pediatric Mental Health Care Access Program, Michigan Child Collaborative Care (MC3) – CONNECT.
  • Assist in identifying processes to refer between programs and provide information about each linkage program to Michigan Child Collaborative Care (MC3) – CONNECT Behavioral Health Consultants (BHCs) who can in turn inform primary care providers within their region. These processes will be evaluated quarterly with input from all leads and the Advisory Committee.
  • Identify other evidence-based interventions that merit linkage.
  • Meet with evidence-based practice leads on a regular basis (at least quarterly).
  • MDHHS Project Director and coordinator will have regular conference calls and meetings with University of Michigan-Michigan Medicine (MM), Michigan State University (MSU) and Mental Health Services to Children and Families (MHSCF) Division regarding the MC3-CONNECT. The conference calls/meetings will discuss the project objectives/activities, status of expenditures, project barriers identified and solutions with the project partners (MSU, MM, MHSCF).
  • Meet regularly with the MC3-CONNECT Advisory Committee regarding the implementation of the project, identified barriers, potential solutions.
  • Prepare reports regarding the project objectives/activities including data collection relevant to the project’s objectives.
  • Participate in meetings/conference calls with HRSA regarding the implementation of the funded project including conference calls/webinars with the project evaluators.
  • Participate in national HRSA Project Conferences/Meetings as deemed appropriate by MDHHS.
  • Represent the best interests of MDHHS and MPHI at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: Minimum of a master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Professional Counseling degree. Licensure by the State of Michigan for professional discipline (MSW, LLP, LLPC/LPC) is desirable.

Experience: A minimum of three-five years of professional experience delivering community based mental health services to children/youth with serious emotional disturbance and their families. Experience developing and implementing integrated behavioral health services to children/youth and their families preferred. Experience working collaboratively with health care providers, child-serving human service systems and institutions of higher education.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Job may require moderate physical effort including lifting materials and equipment of <50# and involves viewing a CRT or VDT screen 50% to 75% of the time. Standard office environment. Requires valid vehicle operator’s license where needed to perform duties of the position.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: Lead workers act as project leaders predominantly and/or coordinate the activities of others.

IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: This project is a high impact project. It is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration and critical to the ongoing work to integrated services for children and their families between the health and behavioral health systems. The results will be of high interest to leadership of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Administration and of MDHHS.
