Job Summary

The Construction Coordinator supports the Project Manager in all phases, from project preconstruction through closeout. The Construction Coordinator works behind the scenes to ensure that everyone involved in the project has a clear path to success. Assisting the Project Manager in the administration of the project, removal of project obstacles, and aiding the contracted and internal field staffs, the construction coordinator provides timely and critical communication throughout the life of the project engendering trust on the part of our clients and contracting partners.

Preconstruction

  • Assist estimating with follow-up calls to contractors.
  • Source vendors, trades and small general contractors.
  • Assist with the material take-offs of buyout materials.
  • Arrange and order temporary facilities as required for the project.
  • Assist with the preparation of Purchase Orders and subcontracts.
  • Maintain and track contract documents and insurance certificates.
  • Review all insurance certificates to ensure they meet requirements, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Subcontractors.
  • Create and Maintain submittal log.

Construction

  • Update Subcontractor database.
  • Seek out “New Bidders” for the database.
  • Work with procurement coordinator to ensure all materials are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Contact Suppliers/Vendors for pricing on materials.
  • Maintain the Supplier database.
  • Maintain project files.
  • Process Change Order requests.
  • Review Applications for payment.
  • Review and maintain lien waiver files.
  • Maintain Project Schedule / ensure kick off and punch walks are scheduled and held.
  • Assist Subcontractors in obtaining the information they need.

Post Construction

  • Obtain all closeout documents from Subcontractors.
  • Assist in the preparation of closeout submittal.
  • Follow up with ownership and your team to ensure a smooth completion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Familiarity with MS Office products – Excel, Access, PowerPoint and construction software Builder Connected.
  • Ability to read blueprints, construction terms and contracting relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; follow-up, accountability.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
