Project Controls – Change Manager
Location: Project Based (Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana)
Type: Full time

General Information/Job Summary
The Change Manager is a Senior Cost Engineer that incorporates the skill of commercial interpretation and management. The Change Manager reads and interprets contracts, project documents, and correspondence highlighting scope changes and variances in execution. Ideally, the Change Manager would have estimating capability to support the compilation of project changes. In addition to supporting and compiling changes, this role includes both direct and indirect cost management, reporting, estimating interface, proposal support, and project management support.

Responsibilities/Competencies

  • Interpretation of Contract and Engineering Scope Documents
  • Differentiate changes and variances based on RFIs, Client Requests, Delay Impact, and changes in General Conditions
  • Develop and maintain change management system including Change Orders, Budget Shifts, and Trends including contingency management. Actively pursue the trending program to include weekly change management meetings as required.
  • Validation of change estimates and schedules against execution practices and cost trends.
  • Timely and accurate reporting at all levels including internal and external clients
  • Timely and accurate forward looking analysis and mitigation plan development to reduce or eliminate unforeseen cost impacts
  • Interface with accounting and procurement system as required in order to produce the most timely and accurate cost forecast possible
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 10-12 years of experience in EPC industry.
  • Commercial or Project Management experience preferred.
  • Multi discipline construction field experience highly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and ability to articulate technical changes.
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial and scope management work process, procedures, and techniques
  • Specific knowledge of the following areas are preferred for the position:
  • Change management and the ability to recognize change and translate impacts from client to both schedule and cost impacts via change orders (same with internal trends)
  • Schedule and Budget interpretation
  • Advanced understanding of EPC industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities
  • Occasional travel required (Division Office or Odessa)
  • Professional, ethical, and team player willing to grow with the company
