What you bring to the table
Beck is looking for a qualified Project Architect/Senior Project Coordinator to join an extraordinary project team in Austin, Texas. As the Project Architect/Senior Project Coordinator, you will apply sound and diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices in a broad array of assignments and related fields.
The job involves the following responsibilities:
- Market/Sell Beck - exhibits the ability to communicate the Integrated Enterprise
- Participate in an overall company committee or initiative
- Demonstrate programming principles
- Lead ADA, TAS and IBC discussions with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
- Understand construction sequencing and constructability
- Work with the in-house construction budget in mind
- Actively manage client budgets, schedules, programs, project communication and documentation, and project team assignments
- Effectively supervise and mentor staff
- Identify customer's needs and understand their culture
- Lead or design small projects
- Serve as the point person for communications and transfer of documents between the entire design team, client/owner's representative and construction team.
- Co-locate with the team, where required for the project.
- Attend meetings during Bidding phase, where applicable.
- Review and process substitution requests. Coordinate with project specifications, design team and consultants.
- Coordinate issuance of any addenda during the Bidding/Negotiation phases.
- Review construction progress for adherence to the Construction Documents.
- Meet with the client during construction site visits to review issues and general progress.
- Review shop drawings and submittals. Coordinate with design partners where appropriate.
- Respond to requests for additional information; prepare, coordinate and/or issue supplemental drawings and/or specifications as required.
- Review and approve general contractor's applications for payment.
- Prepare and execute a punch list of deficient or non-complying work; conduct punch list walk-through with clients and general contractors to check conformance of the work with the construction documents, and to verify accuracy and completeness of the contractor submitted punch list.
- Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (i.e. State health departments and other pertinent regulatory agencies) for inspections, etc.
- Issue Certificates of Substantial Completion.
- Authorize final payments upon completion of projects.
- Prepare and manage project fee budget

You have an understanding of complex aspects of Architecture, a passion to get things done, and possess uncompromising authenticity and integrity.
You also meet the following requirements:
- 4-8 years of relevant experience
- Professional registration preferred
Recommended training includes:
Core Skills, Revit, IDP, Public Speaking, LEED Green Associate Certification
Physical Demands:
Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; ability to coordinate and participate in client meetings; constantly communicates with project team and related parties; ability to maintain best practices related to architectural design and production; ability to adhere to consistent and timely attendance.
