Program Manager, Wells Street Clubhouse

Gilda’s Club Chicago, an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community and Chicagoland’s leader in psychosocial support for people impacted by cancer, is seeking to hire a Program Manager based out of our primary location at 537 North Wells Street, Chicago, IL, 60654. Gilda’s Club Chicago opened in 1998 with a single purpose: to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. All programs are provided at no cost to participants.

Key Performance Criteria and Competencies

The Program Manager manages a robust program of cancer support at our downtown Clubhouse in full compliance with the Cancer Support Community Program Model™. Reporting to the Associate Director, Clubhouse Programs, the Program Manager will ensure that program efforts are consistent with and supportive of Gilda’s Club Chicago’s overall strategic plan and vision. This position will work primarily at the Wells Street Clubhouse (537 North Wells Street) but will be required to travel within the Chicago area for outreach events and connecting with our hospital and community partners.

Primary Responsibilities

· Manage development and delivery of robust program offerings in the GCC clubhouse space

· Provide direct clinical services including but not limited to intakes and orientation, brief individual therapy, group placement, group facilitation, crisis intervention and resource referrals.

· Serve as primary contact for program participants, community contacts and health care professionals for programming based out of the Wells Street Clubhouse.

· Work with Program Team and Marketing Team to increase awareness of GCC programming within the Chicago community in order to increase participation and build capacity.

· Assist with the implementation of member satisfaction surveys, program evaluation and the maintenance of accurate statistical and database records in accordance with Gilda’s Club policies.

· Hire, supervise and direct program staff and contract facilitators in coordination with Program Leadership Team.

  • Assist in the recruitment of professionals, members, and volunteers for programming, lectures, and workshops
  • This position will require one regular evening shift.

Position Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution; highest level of licensure or certification required by the state for the specific field required.

Job Experience: This position requires a Masters’ level clinically licensed mental health professional (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, Clinical Psychologist) with a minimum of three years post graduate experience.

Demonstrated Competencies: Experience working with patients, families, and professionals in a health care or community setting, with oncology experience preferred. Clinical supervision and management. Program development experience a plus. Bilingual Spanish abilities are a plus.

COVID-19 considerations:
Vaccination with booster is required for all GCC employees. Although, in-person programming is suspended at this time. Vaccination, masks and social distancing will be required for all participants upon entering the downtown location.
