The Gianforte School of Computing, housed in the Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering (NACOE), invites applications for a program manager position with primary responsibilities in coordinating multiple organizations across campuses, managing large budgets and staff, and reporting responsibilities to the federal government. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the Software Engineering Laboratory in the School of Computing. Specific duties will include developing monthly reports, participation in reporting meetings, and developing policies and rules for certification entities.Because increasing the diversity of the computing profession is one of our strategic priorities, women and underrepresented minorities in computing are particularly encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
Help with budget management including monthly allocation and progress throughout the project.
Management of progress of all tasks including creation of a Gantt chart for reporting purposes.
Creating monthly reports on the status of the project including financial status.
Quarterly reports along with any other report due.
Assist with paperwork associated with the project. This includes the creation of paperwork at creation as well as any updates or changes.
Maintain web presence and branding of Cybersecurity work.
Maintain records of all meeting discussions.
Communicate with team to ensure milestones are achieved in a timely manner.
Lead the process toward becoming a Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity and obtaining the CAE-CD designation.
Additional tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Intimate knowledge of sub-contracting with partner organizations and universities. This includes policies and forms as they relate to institutional F&A rates, accounting compliance and certifications.
Understanding of Knowledge Units (KUs) as they relate to CAE-CD and CAE-O NSA certification.
Introductory level knowledge of Computer Science as it relates to general topics around software engineering, cybersecurity, and AI
Ability to coordinate and manage multiple university projects.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Experience with basic financial records and competence maintaining records.
Experience editing and managing web pages.
Demonstrated experience using personal computers and various software such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, email and internet. Microsoft Office software preferred.
