The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently accepting applications / resumes for part time Program Instructors for our B3 (Middle School) Afterschool Program. The B3 Afterschool Program is a grant-funded program serving students attending 5th through 9th grades at 3 sites within Perth Amboy, NJ and is funded by the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Program.

Under the guidance of the Program Director and Site Coordinator, the Program Instructor provides direct supervision to a group of youth in the Middle School or High School program. The Program Instructor will be responsible for providing a safe and conducive environment for youth to interact and engage in age appropriate program activities. The Program Instructor also plans and implements program activities that are developmentally appropriate for all program participants. The Program Instructor will also engage in and promote the YMCA mission through the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith.

Hours: Part Time; Monday thru Friday; 2:40pm to 5:40pm.
Essential Duties Include:
- Supervise and instruct a group of 15 youth ages 10-14.
- Promote and incorporate the YMCA five core values into all program activities.
- Promote character development model.
- Develop and implement services to support and motivate participants.
- Develop lesson plans every 6-weeks that detail club and SWBAT objectives.
- Applicant must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have attained a college degree from an accredited college or university in child development, psychology, sociology, education, recreation, or related field (preferred).
- Must have two to four years’ experience teaching/instructing in a specialty program area (i.e. sports, the arts, dance, STEM).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus.
- Prevention of Child Abuse training and review of Child Care Policy (prior to start).
