The YMCA of the Pikes Peak region is looking for a responsible and organized individual to join our Banning Lewis Ranch team as a Program & Event Associate.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Program and Event Associate for Banning Lewis Ranch (BLR) at the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region will work under the direction of the Program and Events Coordinator. The Program and Event Associate will be responsible for the setup and clean-up of all large events in the BLR community. The Program and Event Associate will work during all events taking on a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to crowd control, ticket collection, check-in, activity preparation, and operations. This position will also assist the YMCA youth, sports, membership, and healthy living departments to successfully run their programs.

SHIFT REQUIREMENTS:

Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

PROGRAM & EVENT ASSOCIATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum age 18.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on the specific needs of the community including some holidays, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to lift 40lbs and stand for long periods of time

PROGRAM & EVENT ASSOCIATE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work under the direction of the Program and Events Coordinator to successfully run programs and events for the BLR community.
  • Prepare for large events by setting up tables, chairs, decorations, food, etc.
  • Clean up after all events, storing supplies in the proper location
  • Work assigned tasks during community events to include but not limited to; check-in, crowd control, running activities, handing out food and beverages, etc.
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Inventory event supplies and notifies Program & Event Coordinator when items need to be ordered.
  • Build and create giveaways and promotional items.
  • Work with Oakwood Homes on the summer concert series, 4 th of July celebration, and annual pig roast.
  • Assist other YMCA departments in setting up and executing their programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members, or guests to your supervisor
  • Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
