Summary: The Program Director ensures that the intensive outpatient psychiatric program meets Psychiatric Medical Care’s (PMC) standards. Supervisor of the program staff, the Program Director’s responsibilities include: evaluating staff performance, recruiting and screening new staff, and providing community education to create awareness of the program. Good relationship building skills a must: comfortable and experienced with working closely with hospital CEO’s, CFO’s, CNO’s and high level decision makers. Must have a proven ability in conflict resolution and effective problem solving. The Program Director directs and coordinates the activities of staff to ensure quality patient care. They also must incorporate financial accountability into program activities. Reports to: PMC/Senior Life Solutions Regional Director or designated administrator.

Direct Reports: This position supervises Program Therapist and Office and Patient Coordinator.

This person must have up beat aptitude, work alongside other team members, problem solve and deliver the highest quality customer service. Requires the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others including physicians, nurses, administrators, managers, vendors, and other health care industry personnel.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:


Education:

Associate's degree or higher from accredited school of nursing

  • Current, unrestricted Arizona RN license, required.

Certification:

Must meet any applicable state certification standards.

Current American Heart Association CPR or BLS required.


Experience:

Two to three years of clinical experience with seniors, hospital and nursing facility preferred.

Must have proficiency using a PC in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Electronic Medical Records

Experience communicating & working closely with Physicians

Understanding and experience in behavioral healthcare

Demonstrated skill in utilization management and review systems

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple disciplines

Demonstrated skill in problem solving, consensus building, conflict resolution, advocacy, and team building

Ability to accomplish work objectives where few precedents or guidelines currently exist

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Knowledge of community resources for older adults, familiarity with medical terminology and medical team roles functioning with other hospital departments.

Knowledge of HIPAA privacy requirements.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, as needed.


Strong customer service skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Positive communication skills; ability to successfully interact with all customers; continuous demonstration of courteous, cooperative and service orientated behavior.

Supports and maintains a culture of safety, quality and positive patient experience.
