Solace Center is Trumbull County’s only private, non-profit supervised visitation and safe exchange program. We provide support, guidance, and assistance to families who have experienced some type of trauma, including abuse, neglect, violence, divorce, separation, or custody issues that may cause stress or other difficulties.

The Solace Center provides a neutral, safe, family-friendly environment with trained personnel who monitor the time-limited visits and exchanges. This environment supports children to establish a relationship with the non-residential party, siblings, and other family members, and promotes safe parental access to the child(ren).

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Provide supervision to Intake Coordinator, Family Support Workers, Interns and Volunteers; reports progress and concerns to Program Director and gathers concerns from families serviced through the programs provided through Solace Center.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist custodial and non-custodial parents in experiencing a positive, safe environment to conduct scheduled visits.

2. Assist staff in the safe exchange of children from the custodial parent to the non-custodial parent for scheduled/court ordered overnight and weekend visits as well as safe return exchanges.

3. Establish a trusting relationship with participants.

4. Provide supervision of staff and families during the visits by being available during the visits.

5. Schedule initial visits/exchanges and assure contact with the various families.

6. Collect and report written documentation of events occurring during the visit.

7. Enforce program rules as well as maintaining confidentiality.

8. Attend required trainings as well as agency and team meetings as requested.

9. Provide intervention suggestions to the families we serve in accordance with case plans to assist in the development of better parenting practices.

10. Assists with the submission of service reports per program and agency reporting requirements.

11. Participates in team planning, case reviews and program goal achievement when necessary.

12. Assists in creating and maintaining a positive program image in the community.

13. Assists in evaluation and continual improvement of program services and activities.

14. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements and educational/certification/registry requirements.

15. Models awareness and behavior needed for growth and development.

16. Completes Quarterly report narratives for agency report.

17. Fulfills other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A solid understanding of the dynamics of family functioning, parenting and family violence.

2. Strong communication skills.

3. Assure a safe and clean environment for the visits and provide input for safety issues.

4. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.

5. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree preferred in Social Work, Psychology or related field. High school diploma or equivalent required.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: One year of experience preferred in the field of domestic violence and/or family/crisis intervention.
