Position Summary:

The Program and Communications Coordinator supports all aspects of the Center for Justice Reform (CJR) operations and embraces restorative justice values. This is a residential position, requiring a regular presence on campus.

Essential Functions and Principal Accountabilities:

  • Participates in and promotes the CJR program philosophy and objectives.
  • Coordinates daily activities and calendars for the CJR team, and provides individual scheduling assistance.
  • Supports and contributes to the CJR leadership team’s initiatives.
  • Develops relationships and collaborates with staff across institutional departments including marketing and communications, admissions, and the registrar, among others.
  • Plans, coordinates, and promotes events and workshops.
  • Collaborates in student services and activities.
  • Maintains basic financial records, processes payment vouchers, and manages day-to-day budget processing.
  • Promotes the work of the CJR with campus announcements, fliers, newsletters, and social media posts.
  • Collaborates in gathering feedback and presenting insights, helping to anticipate program needs/obstacles. Design collaborative, inclusive responses.
  • Provides administrative support to CJR team and faculty, including: mail, maintaining office supplies, sending emails as needed to diverse audiences, surveys/polls, tracking student data, other requests (building maintenance, IT requests, etc.) as needed, photocopying/scanning, managing email lists for incoming students and faculty.
  • Supports CJR faculty, including logistics, stipends, and coordinating housing for Summer Series faculty.
  • Provides Committee support, scheduling and keeping minutes, as needed.
  • Coordinates with the marking and communications team to update and revise the CJR website.
  • Helps to ensure relevant standards, processes, and regulations are upheld.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or working towards a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Program planning and implementation skills.
  • Ability to gather data and compile information.
  • Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
  • Basic knowledge of budgets and cost estimating and processing.
  • Collaborative, creative, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Solid computer skills, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment; experience with Microsoft Office (365) applications, virtual work environments, and social media applications
  • Familiarity with social media and event promotion and planning.
