Production Worker

Position Summary:

South San Francisco is one of Catalent’s gummy technology development and manufacturing facilities in North America. The site manufactures organic and vegan-based nutraceuticals via confection to enhance wellness for all consumers. Simply put – we make healthy gummies. Within the Catalent network, we offer a broad range of integrated formulation and analytical services to solve difficult development and manufacturing challenges.

Production Worker manufactures products or packaged goods according to Standard Operating Procedures and specified quality standards. Carries out specific instructions from packaging or Production Supervisor or designated Lead by the daily packaging schedule/production schedule.

The annual pay range for this position in California is $40,352.00.

The Role:

• Daily receives instruction from Supervisor or designated Lead concerning type and quantity of products to be manufactured or packed;
• Performs required machinery and equipment set up and dismantles as directed;
• Transports pallets of candy from the packaging staging area to the individual packaging machine and/or packaging lines;
• Transports product skids from dry rooms, to and from the mogul, and to staging for transfer trucks.
• Perform product set up to specified schedule;

• Maintains proper level of candy/vitamins, from plastic trays, on the conveyor belt;•Visually inspects candy/vitamins on the conveyor belt and rejects unacceptable products (i.e. scrap, “bumble beans”, or sub-standard vitamins.), based on the company’s quality specifications;

• Manually weighs candy into each bag or carton, ensuring that weights are following the instructions from Supervisor or designated Lead;·
• Other duties as assigned

The Candidate:

• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: No priorexperience or training.
• LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read and interpret a limited number of two and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• MATH ABILITY: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using standard units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• TECHNICAL SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should know the basic principles of mechanical functioning and cause and effect.
• CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: No certifications are needed
