JOB TITLE: Production Assistant REPORTS TO: Production Manager

JOB SUMMARY

This role is focused on packaging and shipping roasted coffee to our wholesale and retail customers. This position is for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, pays $20-$25 per hour, and includes free coffee, a paid half-hour for lunch, and discounts on retail coffee and pastries. We are looking for motivated, detail-oriented individuals who want a consistent schedule in a friendly and team-oriented environment.
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys structure, process and standards, and organization in the workplace.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Learn to use and successfully operate a weigh and fill machine, band sealer, and scales. Work on the production line with consistent speed and accuracy.

• Preparing production materials for the work day, such as stickering and stamping bags, stamping and folding of boxes.

• Accurately fulfill wholesale and retail orders. This includes, but is not limited to: building boxes, picking products, filling boxes, labeling boxes and stacking finished boxes in the appropriate area.

• Brewing iced coffee kegs and maintaining equipment and machinery.

• Receiving bulk freight such as green coffee or other supplies.

• General cleaning and maintenance of the production space.

• Coverage of other warehouse functions as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing and walking for most of the work day in a hot and loud environment.

• Work requires the following motions: bending, reaching, lifting, climbing, folding, pinching.

• Hearing and the ability to perceive mechanical sound cues.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 155lbs assisted and up to 50lbs unassisted.

• Work experience in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse setting is preferred.
