    SCOPE OF POSITION:
    Performs duties to lead and give direction to workers assigned to a specific area of production. The objectives for this position are to act as coach and facilitator to the group responsible for continuous and efficient production in desired quantity and quality according to customer requirements by performing the following duties.

    • Assigns and directs workers in production group with respect to production volume, cost and quality of production, and meeting production goals and delivery dates.

    • Assures quality of work through accuracy, neatness, paying attention to details, thorough understanding of information, with minimal amount of rework. Conveys personal commitment to quality by demonstrating good quality behavior. Identifies and acts upon opportunities to improve quality of material or process.

    • Achieves maximum efficiency and productivity of group personnel.

    • Encourages efficient utilization of equipment and facilities. Ensures that work group has necessary resources to complete requirements.

    • Works with the team to establish and effectively communicate production goals and work schedules.

    • Checks actual against scheduled production. Alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

    • Coordinates flow of work within or between departments to expedite production. Reviews master production schedule and work orders, establishes priorities for specific customer orders, and revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and materials in order to meet customer demands.

    • Reviews schedules to establish sequence and lead times of each operation and department to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Reviews production specifications and plant capacity data.

    • Partners with supply chain to ensure appropriate flow of materials.

    • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality.

    • Processes performance evaluations of all direct reports and assists in recruiting of new team members

    • Responsible for training of work group and assists in identifying training needs

    • Maintains compliance with Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping

    QUALIFICATIONS

    KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION:
    (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)
    • Associate degree in Business or Production Management from a four-year college or university plus 3-5 years management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
