Summary/Objective
The 2nd Shift Production Manager is responsible for direct departmental activities and initiating/participating in cross-functional activities to accomplish the objectives of safety, quality, on time delivery, inventory, productivity, and continuous improvement. This position will work on Monday – Friday from 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM. Overtime may be required.
Essential Functions
- Manage department operations and prioritize production requirements in alignment with production plan
- Responsible for driving safety culture
- Facilitate shift activity among other department supervisors
- Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardize work processes are followed, countermeasures implemented, and the area is compliant with safety requirements.
- Review daily in-process inventory reports to determine and assign priorities as needed
- Assign daily work schedules for direct labor to meet business goals
- Lead daily GEMBA discussions
- Initiate and coordinate assistance as required from support departments
- Responsible for maintaining transactional discipline and inventory integrity
- Monitor and provide coaching follow-up for performance regarding safety, quality, and productivity
- Monitor machinery, equipment and facility and initiate maintenance work orders, as required, to ensure efficient, effective, and safe working conditions
- Coordinate regular shift meetings as needed
- Maintain associate records regarding attendance, time off requests and training
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of leadership/management experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years of industrial manufacturing production/operations experience

Work Environment
- Exposure to manufacturing environment. Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to noisy/loud in the plant area. Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes and safety glasses, is required.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Lead and direct 30+ members of the 2nd shift production team
