ABC News’ 20/20 has an opening for a Production Assistant. The primary focus of this position is to provide administrative support to an on-air correspondent. The ideal candidate will have admin duty experience as well as a keen interest in pursuing a career in longform production. Candidate must be willing to work flexible hours and travel to locations with talent during breaking news.
Responsibilities:
- Manage correspondent’s calendar, travel arrangements, expense reports, and social media pages
- Answer phone calls and emails to facilitate correspondent’s internal and external meetings and appearance requests
- Willing to travel and assist correspondent during live shots, breaking news and 20/20 specials
- Willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings and nights
- Create research packets for correspondent’s upcoming stories or segments
- Communicate with executives and producers across the business
- Support 20/20 producers during production (includes shoot preparation, media gathering, post-production and general production support.)
- Actively pitch story ideas and engage in story development related to production
- Foster an inclusive and positive work environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- The ability to work well with others and perform duties under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in all Windows/Outlook/One Drive functions
- Must be conscientious, self-motivated, and proactive
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with on-air talent
- Prior experience in long-format production is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of online editing is preferred.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
