The Product Specialist II will oversee the filing and documentation for pooled products segments as well as coordinate the completion and submission of multiple state and federal requirements. The Product Specialist II also participates in the development and management of a product line as needed.

Required Skills, Experience, & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, or the health care industry.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the health insurance industry.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access and VBA.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts including statistics and data mining.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality and projects a professional business image.
  • Ability to come in to work on time and on a daily basis.


Primary Functions:

  • Oversees the completion and submission of multiple required state and federal filings, reports, and applications.
  • Subject matter expert for assigned product line or functional area.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert of Serff and HIOS.
  • Explain and/or demonstrate product features, benefits, or functionality accurately and completely.
  • Creates and maintains documentation of the processes developed for the pooled product segments and filings.
  • Learns procedures and programming behind spreadsheets and applications utilized by the department and establishes a comprehensive understanding of these to streamline processes.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with multiple departments to ensure common practices and data consistency within our applications.
  • Manages compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Manages complex tasks within the job function.
  • Accountable for documentation and process integrity.
  • Accountable for overall QA of work deliverable.
  • Compiles and verifies data, prepares reports and provides various levels of analysis and documentation.
  • Acts as a peer review and resource for the filing and reporting processes.
  • Provides training and coaching to the Product Tech roles.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of assigned product line or functional area.
  • Participates in product implementation, design, and management.
  • Assist sales and marketing when needed in the field to promote the organization’s products and services within an assigned geographic area, product range, or list of customer accounts.
  • Assist with RFPs, seminars, presentations, and sales negotiations for important or potential customers/partners.
  • Accountable for collecting new product requirements through various channels and active follow up.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Comfort around executive leadership.
  • Seeks self-improvement through mentoring and coaching from senior team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
