About the job

A key ambition of ours is to encourage a data-driven mindset and empower those in our organization to quickly make data-driven decisions that drive strategic actions. We are also building the mindset of a Single Source of Truth (SSOT) in data management. This role will support delivering the Data Self-Service product vision by enabling insights for key business questions leveraging the unified platform for Data Self-Service and supporting the highest level of engagement from Data Self-Service stakeholders into the SSOT strategy. You will help define the requirements and facilitate delivering solutions to improve our connection to and utilization of data, both internal and external. You will partner closely with the business to understand the data-to-day issues our business faces and identify ways to improve leveraging the self-service platform. You will work closely with the Data Self-Service Product owners, supporting them by making the product vision a reality and maximizing value for the organization.

The position can be based in our office in our White Plains, NY or Broomfield/Louisville, CO OR remote eligible.


Business Strategy / Strategic Vision

  • Contributes to the vision of the Data Self-Service product, its definition, and the associated value. Makes recommendations to build and sustain the backlog, arbitrating among different needs and priorities
  • Ensures consistency between the needs of end-users and stakeholders, as reflected in the vision of the Data Self-Service product, its delivery, and its deployment & adoption.
  • Understands the business needs, proactively conducts exploratory and confirmatory analysis to identify product opportunities and discover product insights.
  • Defines, analyzes, and validates key metrics to inform decision-making and measure product success from a business and user perspective
  • Supports prioritization process, plans, and communicates the steps identified to deliver the Data Self-Service product. Support management of product backlog and prioritize based on key business value, arbitrating among different needs and priorities
  • Identifies and implements opportunities to improve user adoption of the Data Self-Service platform.
  • Partner with other product teams and squads to co-develop products which drive value
  • Ensure consistency between the needs of end-users and stakeholders, as reflected in the vision of the product, its delivery, and its deployment & adoption.
  • Works with business in an agile way to help define business value creating use cases leveraging the platform for Data Self-Service while ensuring effective governance and with an emphasis on user experience.
  • Understand the business needs, proactively conduct exploratory and confirmatory analysis to identify product opportunities and discover product insights.
  • Collaborates with the agile team, empowering others to work effectively and efficiently with Data Self-Service.

Impact on Business Results:

  • Contributes to business results by delivering Data Self-Service products with high value for the organization, unlocking new capabilities and ensuring high quality IT delivery.
  • The success of the Data Self-Service products will be measured through the following KPIs:
    • Portfolio coverage: Percentage of business functions with their Data Self-Service needs fulfilled or mapped in a backlog
    • Sprint velocity: Amount of work performed by the Data Self-Service squad in each sprint
    • Governance reach: Percentage of Data Self-Service products documented and published to data consumers
    • User Adoption: Percentage of users actively engaged with Data Self-Service tools.
About you
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in business intelligence (BI), data visualization and UX design.
  • Experience with CPG and working agile are desired

Innovation Skills and Competencies:

  • Ambassador of Data Self-Service. Drive user adoption.
  • Business Partnering . . . Be an ambassador of Data Self-Service and drive user adoption of Data Self-Service product and tools. Ability to assemble, analyze, and evaluate data and to be able to make appropriate and well-reasoned recommendations and decisions to the Business stakeholders and the Project/Development Teams
  • Ability to rapidly understand business requirements, communicate business expectations to cross-functional development teams, document Data Self-Service findings that can be easily understood, structured, and detailed oriented profile
  • Experience with Product and Agile Management methodology
  • User experience (UX) design/Design thinking/Data visualization
  • Previous experience with data technologies including Azure, Databricks, Informatica, Stonebranch, Snowflake, Power BI, Microsoft Suite of tools
  • Experience with data strategy definition and data governance
  • Knowledge in process automation, machine learning and artificial practices a plus
  • Business sense when discussing demands with functions and technical knowledge when communicating with the squad.
  • Knowledgeable about user experience and value journey.
  • Solid interpersonal, communication, influencing and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with internal teams in a global, cross-cultural, and cross-functional environment.
  • Organized, focused and able to thrive in a dynamic environment

The base compensation range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000 commensurate with experience.
