Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for working day-to-day purchasing activities and implementing purchasing strategies, including negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers. The Procurement Specialist will evaluate component usage to forecast demand and minimize risk to support production, service, and development of Orange EV vehicles. Commodities purchased by the Procurement Specialist include electrical components, motors, batteries, automotive suspension, steering, and safety components, hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies, fabricated metal assemblies, 3D printed parts, and custom cut plastic and glass.

Position Qualifications*

• Bachelor’s degree in business from an accredited university (Expected May 2022 graduates included)
• Strong Excel skills and an analytical approach to problem solving
• Ability to multitask and respond quickly to changing priorities each day
• Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of negotiation techniques
• Knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP)
• Knowledge of purchasing and manufacturing processes

Ideal Candidates May Also Have

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or logistics
• Experience in a procurement role in a manufacturing environment (internships included)
• Knowledge of automotive components and system operations (steering, suspension, etc.)
• Knowledge of electrical systems and/or electric vehicles
• Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing
• Passion for clean energy technologies like electric vehicles
