Tomorrow.io's Space & Sensors team is responsible for the development of unique RF-based sensing systems, such as radar and sonar, from architecture through implementation. The team is also responsible for the development of corresponding spacecraft and constellations in support of Tomorrow.io's Operation Tomorrow Space, which will collect data to be integrated seamlessly into our existing forecasting and modeling systems, revolutionizing global weather intelligence.

We are looking for a Procurement and Operations Administrator who'll Support and aid in defining an efficient and productive supply chain & procurement process that meets all stakeholders requirements. Support work in the lab, organization, receiving, shipping, other S&S specific tasks, and needs in the Bourne office.

As a Procurement and Operations Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for the organization while ensuring the smooth operations of the day-to-day business activities in the office and lab. You will be responsible for liaising with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure that products and services are delivered on time and within budget. You will also be responsible for tracking inventory levels, ensuring that the company's assets are properly maintained and that all operations are in compliance with regulatory requirements Primary duties include purchasing, data entry, records management, organization, receiving of hardware, logistics and office management. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload.

What you'll do:

  • Issue purchase orders, manage the procurement process from initial request to delivery, reconcile invoices with finance, and communicate schedules/requests to requesters and suppliers, in addition to strategizing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors in order to acquire the most cost-effective deals and to reduce procurement expenses.
  • Provide administrative support, including maintaining records and databases, generating reports, coordinating meetings, scanning documents, logistics, shipping, and receiving
  • Support the preparation of budgets, financial reports, and other related documentation.
  • Ensure that all documentation and records are accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Participate with supply chain process improvement and identify improvement opportunities
  • Perform system transactions, data entry and ability to work and maintain ERP system (Netsuite or similar), familiar with Bills of Materials
  • Partner with production and engineering on stocking, cleaning, and organization of lab and office areas
  • Understanding of inventory management and the importance of inventory control
  • General facility/operations support knowledge and flexibility to jump in and support the team where needed
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational qualities to ensure all deadlines are met and responsibilities are completed on time
  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with organizational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Provides comprehensive and professional support service to management and leadership.
  • Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to direct leaders.

What you bring:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in procurement, operations management, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in a startup environment or within the space industry is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
