Job description
Paint process technicians monitor and improve paint manufacturing processes in different areas throughout the paint shop. Each technician is responsible for checking, monitoring and adjusting process parameters, test incoming material quality, work with material planner to manage material inventory, receive, transport/unloading/loading materials.
- Responsibilities
- Consider his/her own personal safety along with the people around them
- Start/Stop Pumps
- Check all gauges on pumps, heat exchangers, filters, assure they are in spec
- Change filters as needed
- Check bath levels
- Dump and fill tanks
- Clean tanks of any dirt and debris
- Test bath chemistry
- Add chemicals
- Change empty chemical totes with new chemicals
- Periodically process panels for etch rate and coating weight test
- Aid with the dumping and transferring of tanks
- Clearly and quickly communicate issues and relevant information to entire
Requirements: Two year Associate of Science AS degree (or equivalent) preferred Capable of identifying critical process parameters and applying statistics to process measurement and control preferred. Proven understanding of manufacturability, process design, process validation, assembly methods, and cost reduction methodologies. Preferred Data collection and analysis experience in a high volume automated manufacturing environment Preferred industry experience in roll winding, conveyance and slurry handling/mixing, roll to roll coating, tolerances on the micron scale is a plus.
