Responsibilities

 Estimates manufacturing and integration costs for production Equipment (electrical).

 Procures estimates for design, build and installation of equipment.

 Develops electrical drawing packages, bill of materials and documentation for standard equipment.

 Develops PLC, Robotic, Drive-Programs for new projects and program modifications to existing machinery.

 Makes robot, weld-controller and network integration for our machinery.  Participates in development and control of equipment standard.

 Takes equipment from concept to installation for new programs and/or changes to existing programs as a result of engineering changes.

 Develops information for purchasing department so procurement can be done efficiently.

 Creates training material for operators and maintenance personal for KIRCHHOFF Automotive developed machinery.

 Liaises with vendors and monitors progress through quotation, design, build and installation of all new equipment necessary for new programs.

 Ensure equipment meets all cost, quality, reliability and productivity requirements.

 Obtains quotations from various vendors and presents summary of all relevant details to team members for input and evaluation.

 Compiles all required documentation and generates purchase requisition to Maintenance / Engineering Manager for signature.

 Makes or oversees startup of our equipment from the electrical side.

 Ensures instruction manuals and all pertinent documentation including detail drawings and electrical schematics are forwarded to the appropriate departments.  Ensures new equipment is modified accordingly as per engineering change requirements.

 Any other reasonable request made by management.

 Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to. Ensures he/she is in full compliance with the laws of Michigan and/or any other province or state, while representing the company's Automotive or during the use of any of the Automotive provided equipment.

Work Experience (provide details and minimum # of years required)

 Minimum 7 years experience in the automotive industry with exposure to building equipment, programmable logic control, electrical, robotics, etc.

 Sound understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and IATF 16949/ISO 14001 requirements

 Working knowledge of Advanced Quality Planning processes Skills (language, technical, computer etc.)

 Sound understanding of laser and IATF 16949/ISO 14001 requirements

 Working knowledge of processes

 Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, CAD key

 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

 Effective problem solving and decision making skills

 Ability to handle multi-tasks and changing priorities

 Works well in a team environment

 Effective presentation skills

 Excellent analytical skills and exercises sound judgement Education

 Understanding and use of relevant KAPS methods and tools in all processes, and adherence to applicable KAPS standards.

 Understanding and use of the applicable Shopfloor and Office Management pillars and standards, and active participation in all applicable Shopfloor and Office Management meetings and activities.

 Understanding and use of the Company's Behaviors in the daily relationship with other colleagues, customers and suppliers.  Understanding, support and participation in all tasks, trainings and development topics that will drive towards Lean Excellence

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
