Position Overview
Responsible for production operations and process engineering functionalities, including safety performance, the enhancement of operator skill-set competencies, attainment of departmental goals and objectives, process enhancements and project initiatives that promote equipment reliability and uptime.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead and enforce site safety protocols. Strive for a zero-injury workplace by ensuring safe working conditions for employees.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Effectively utilize the site ERP manufacturing system. Resolve inventory variances/discrepancies, underruns, overruns and implement permanent corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Ensures that Product Quality is an absolute priority by maintaining compliance with quality standards and ensuring personnel are effectively trained and competent.
- Build a robust, skilled and competent team. Conduct interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, training and terminations of production team personnel.
- Engineer, implement and sustain the production operator training program.
- Review and analyze production trends. Utilize statistical methods to analyze and interpret quality data, reliability performance, KPIs and other operational information to determine causes of nonconformity or impairment.
- Implement permanent corrective measures (process enhancements, personnel training, equipment upgrades, trials, etc.) that reduce process variation, promote product quality, support new product initiatives and optimize equipment uptime.
- Provide stewardship of the site RCFA program.
- Optimize production schedules to maximize campaigns and minimize impairments such as change-overs, formulation changes and product/manufacturing line compatibility issues.
- Collaborate with maintenance leadership to set priorities, timelines and maintain return to service compliance.
- Maintain the production team’s compliance with ISO standards and execute corrective actions as non-compliances or notable observations are noted.
- Maintain a clean and organized plant and reinforce site compliance based on the 5-S methodology.
- Provide site leadership when the Plant manager is off plant.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and the technical team as required.

- Assist with maintenance activities as needed.

Basic Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience
- Prefer a minimum of 5 years of production experience in the blown film or similar industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; advanced education preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills required.
- Exceptional math skills required to analyze and interpret statistical data, work with product formulations, calculate and track raw material variances and utilize performance data.
- Works in both an office and plant environment in support of 7-day, 24 hour operation with considerably varying work hours.
- Exposure to heat conditions.
- Multi-lingual preferred.
- Blown film production troubleshooting ability a strong plus.
- Comprehension and working knowledge of plastic extrusion processes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $105,000.00 - $108,000.00 per year
