Overview:
Staffing Pros, a division of VETS Inc., is recruiting for a full-time Principal Software Engineer in Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities:
  • Design/development of new and modifying existing business and operations applications in support of the company's services.
  • Software development life cycle during all application development from requirements gathering through deployment with a primary focus on requirements and design.
  • Development primarily in Oracle & Java with other development technologies employed as needed by the given assignment.
  • Function as a senior member of the team providing mentoring to junior engineers,
  • Perform design and code reviews within the team and assist with major troubleshooting activities that may arise regardless of application ownership.
  • Socialize best practices within the team.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 8+ years of overall experience to include web application development
  • 8+ years of Java Development Experience
  • 8+ years of experience with multiple web technologies including JavaScript, Ajax, CSS, HTML
  • 8+ years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions
    • + years of both Windows and Linux OS

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Angular JS and Spring is a plus
  • Experience with Node.js and orchestration methods
  • Experience with REST based web services
  • Experience in Cloud technologies is plus
  • Past experience in Order to Cash process in a telco/satellite environment
  • Past OSS/BSS experience
  • Past experience with digital transformation (Lift and Shift and Rearchitecting projects
  • Experience in SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • GCP, Google workflows, … (if not GCP, any other cloud experience will be preferred over none)
  • Experience with microservices, containers, dockers, GCP Anthos, Kubernetes and related technology stack
  • Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible, Jfrog, Bitbucket, JMeter
  • Past experience of developing and supporting large scale systems and deployments
