RMX Team is looking for an experienced web developer to help us advance

About the role

Zillow's mission by building unique and highly engaging user experiences. You will work on new media-rich web experiences, which are part of the broader full-stack Zillow 3D Home product. You’ll work side-by-side with outstanding computer vision and machine learning teams to help build our new experiences. As a senior developer, you will be responsible for defining architectural direction, crafting amazing user experiences, driving features forward across multiple teams, and blazing trails. Our ideal candidate is also a technical leader who has a real passion for mentoring and growing the potential of others.

RMX team is enabling 3D Home Tour capability with Zillow.com website and Apps on mobile devices for entire US areas and will continue to expand relations with Zillow partners throughout 2022. The RMX PME FE services will be migrated into AWS based Kubernetes clusters with cutting-edge ZG common platform technologies such as Kafka, Flink and advanced AWS technologies.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $181,000.00 - $289,100.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

• Heavy React + Redux development. In-depth JavaScript experience and knowledge is a requirement.

• CSS knowledge is also important.

• Expectation of knowledge beyond application development; we need somebody who won't shy away from infrastructure issues as well. The candidate will expect to either know or ramp up quickly in areas such as Gitlab pipelines, relevant AWS services (S3, Cloudfront, etc.), webpack, code splitting, Sentry, etc.

• Web performance, monitoring, server-side rendering, and accessibility are all areas of focus for this team. These can all be taught, but previous experience in at least some if not all of these areas is ideal.

• Our various levels of tests are written primarily in JavaScript. We also have tests written in Java and Python, but only rudimentary skills in those areas are necessary to support those in this role.
