Collins Aerospace is looking for a Principal Engineering Specialist within the Equipment and Standards Engineering group. You will be a key focal point coordination with design groups to establish technical requirements for standards hardware for nacelle items & hardware. In this role you will gain experience in the various phase of the product life cycle ranging from product conception through end-of-life.

Position is currently working in a hybrid capacity with a mix of working onsite and remotely from home weekly. Relocation assistance available.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation and update of Company Standard Drawings
  • Schedule/lead internal review of Company Standard Drawings, Specifications and Supplier Documents
  • Creation of objects in Teamcenter for release
    • Release of Standard Drawings, Specifications in Teamcenter
    • Release of Standard Models in ENOVIA
    • Assigning Group and Serial numbers to standard hardware
  • Find alternate standard hardware to support program schedules
  • Establish Preferred Parts for Aerostructures Proprietary Programs that Minimizes the Variety of Standard Parts, Processes and Practices
  • Provide Technical Support to Supplier
    • Supplier Data Approval
    • Supplier Engineering drawings Approval
  • Review and provide disposition of IR issues associated with Standard hardware
  • Review and Concur with the disposition of Quality issues associated with Standard hardware.
    • Assist in MRB closure
  • For new supplier selection - Support procurement, as required, in bringing new suppliers on board for applicable standard hardware.
  • For legacy programs – Support Aftermarket and legacy programs for set up of Spares sales and component engineering changes.
  • Comply with Export compliance requirements.
    • XClass classifications
  • Provide design data, associated metrics, and information needed to support internal and customer meetings and reviews
  • Drive technical issues to closure and respond to assigned action items
  • Responsible for driving supplier to determine root cause for field service returns.
  • Communicate and make presentations to leadership
  • Perform other duties as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Design Integration skills on complex mechanical structures using CAD tools
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering design and analysis review/release process.
  • Understanding of the configuration management process and/or quality assurance systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace experience
  • Experience with CATIA/ENOVIA or equivalent CAD tools
  • Ability to influence, motivate and co-ordinate with diverse global teams/customers
  • Mechanical Engineering degree

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
