Job description
Ensures compliance with standards for preschool and school age services as established by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities and the Ohio Department of Education. Participates in IEP development and oversees development of future goals for children services program. Monitors service delivery through classroom observation, review of lesson plans and other service documentation instruments; meets with parents and staff, as needed to help ensure effective service delivery. Oversees behavior support plans in childrens programs and assures they are carried out as written and documentation is completed.

Ensures all required student documents are received and signed prior to admission. Assures completion and delivery of student progress report to parents. Works with ESC, School Districts, and SSA Department to plan and coordinate transition students, preschool to schoolage, and from schoolage to work or adult services. Completes and submits accurate student count reports.

Member of the Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC). Reviews incident reports and ensures proper notifications. Assures safe operation of children services program. Completes Federal Quota for blind and deaf blind.

Assists HR in screening and interviewing applicants. Responsible for training and orienting new employees. Oversees, assigns, and schedules the Behavior Specialist. Supervises program staff; assigns work duties, evaluates performance; recommends or administers discipline, as needed.

Reviews for accuracy and approves staff, substitute, and student aide payroll time sheets. Coordinates tours and observations by outside persons. Coordinates field trips with teachers and the transportation department. Coordinates program events with the operations department.

Assists in survey of staff, families, and community to improve services. Disseminates, if needed, information about agency goals, rules, and regulations to the agency staff, conducts staff meetings. Prepares and plans inservice training for staff, coordinates curricula development. Assists teachers in development of school program calendar ensuring ODE requirements are met.

Prepares state and federal funding requests affecting children. Assures compliance with funding initiatives such as Medicaid, Title 6, Title 6B and grants. Seeks to obtain any available grants. Manages departmental budget and authorizes purchases.

Attends monthly board meetings. As member of leadership team, participates in the creation of departmental goals for the Annual Action Plan, Strategic Plan and/or other required goals.
