Monday- Friday, full-time position
Purpose: The Certified Prevention Specialist will work in the community to deliver evidence-based prevention services to individuals, families, and groups by educating and encouraging positive behaviors. This role will provide children, adolescents, and adults with support and information to promote healthy lifestyles. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and outreach efforts to make a difference in the community.
Qualifications:
● Associates Degree or Higher level of Education
● One of the following credentials(or willingness to seek): Registered Applicant
(RA), Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist Assistant (OCPSA), Ohio Certified
Prevention Specialist (OCPS), Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant (OCPC).
● Clear and confident communication skills.
● Public speaking abilities and comfortable interacting with groups.
● Highly motivated and takes the initiative.
● Creative/Innovative with all populations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Enthusiastically present/deliver educational materials with an evidence-based curriculum.
● Source, coordinate, and plan activities with organizations to implement prevention-based programs.
● Uphold professional relationships with local schools, law enforcement, and health care providers while establishing new partnerships to meet common community goals.
● Stay current and up to date on local events and assess the needs of the specific populations.
● Responsible for completing all mandatory paperwork and staying in compliance with all laws and regulations.
● Actively participates in learning opportunities and ongoing development.
● Appreciates diversity and advocates for inclusion with ethical practices.
