Provide effective troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs of HVAC, refrigeration, restaurant and swimming pool equipment systems on campus in support of campus programs and operations.

Responsibilities:
Normal hours are from Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:30 PM tech Hours maybe from Tuesday through Friday 11:00 AM-7:30PM. Saturdays will be from 8:00-4:30. To be determined by Supervisor.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks as directed by the HVAC Supervisor and as determined by Facilities Services Department computer maintenance advisor program (TMA).
- Replace filters, grease bearings, replace belts, and wash coils brush chiller barrels, clean cooling towers and any other maintenance as required by manufactures specifications to keep all equipment operating at its highest efficiency with minimum down time.
- Perform daily pool maintenance; responsible for pool equipment operations records and standards (pool chemistry, meter readings, equipment maintenance including, deck maintenance, diving board maintenance and cleanliness, etc.) required by the department and regulatory and licensing agencies.
- Daily inspection of kitchen equipment on all campus cafeterias.
- Under direction and with full support of HVAC team as per experience, must be willing to take on tasks like Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain refrigeration equipment walk in coolers, walk in freezers, ovens, exhaust fans, stoves and kitchen equipment systems in support of campus food service programs and operations this would be under indirect supervision while the PM tech is learning and advancing through the trade
- Keep mechanical rooms clean and safe.
- Use lockout Tag out program when working on electrical, water, and steam as departments requires for safety.
- Respond to requests from campus requiring adjustments or repair to building equipment and/or systems.
- Respond to emergency HVAC hot and cold calls, and after-hours calls with full support as required by the department.
- May assists technical shops on small in-house projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:
High School diploma plus preventative maintenance experience or related specialized training/education; knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration technical skills; ability to safely use of power tools such as to drills, rotor hammers, saws, grinders tube brushing equipment, pressure washers; ability to pass required specialized training classes to include Universal EPA license and a certified pool operator certificate within the first 90 days of employment and a Mech 4 license by the first year of hire date; ability to think critically and solve problems; good judgment; excellent organizational and customer service skills. Must be able and willing to participate in the 24 hour on call program once familiar with campus. Physical requirements include moderate physical effort (usually lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds); walking, standing, carrying of loads up and down stairs, reaching and/or grasping, stooping, kneeling, bending, crawling and
crouching, pushing and/or pulling; working safely outdoors in all (sometimes extreme) weather conditions; exposure to noisy or dusty conditions, mechanical, electrical and/or other hazards chemicals and solvents.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of a recognized heating, ventilation and air conditioning educational/certificate program. EPA universal license and a Mech 4 license; TMA work order management system experience; Certified Pool Operator Certification; journey-level HVAC maintenance experience.
