Press Support - 2nd Shift

The Press Support position requires the ability to work both independently and on a team, in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have the required skills and experience as well as strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for creating/remaking plates as required
- Perform regular cleaning/maintenance on plate making equipment
- Notify appropriate manager(s) when equipment is down, and then back in service
- Pull plates to match ticket requirements and filing correctly after use
- Verify ink type and pull from inventory
- Redline tickets and update as necessary
- Mount plates accurately to ticket specifications
- Pull the proper die materials to ensure the accurate production of labels
- Maintain the storage of cylinders and monitor inventory of ink, mounting tape. Notify staff as necessary to reorder plate material and supplies
- Maintain the return cart and put away inks, plates, print cylinders and tools when jobs are complete
- Mix inks to ensure color effectiveness as needed
- Provide back up to other production areas as needed, including but not limited to: finishing, shipping, warehouse, etc.
- Responsible for ensuring presses are stocked with all materials to run orders
- Pull material from warehouse when needed
- When your work is done, provide back up assistance to production areas as needed
- Train others on use and maintenance of plate making equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualified candidates will possess the following skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read, write and perform basic math problems
- Must possess organizational skills and have the ability to problem solve
- Prior printing experience or related education of 6 months to 2 years preferred
