Suburban Associates in Ophthalmology, a leading Ophthalmology medical practice with three office locations in the NW suburban Chicago area, has an opening for a pre-med/pre-medical professional to join our team for a gap year(s). This role will allow the individual to develop hands on experience supporting complex patients in an ophthalmology practice while supporting ones long term career goals. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our growing practice and make a difference. This position requires the ability to be scheduled to float between our Arlington Heights, Elk Grove, and Hoffman Estates office locations and must be available to work 8hr shifts on Monday and Wednesday, as well as, Saturday from 7:30am until 1:00pm.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Support physician through clinical documentation in the EHR
• Assures efficient patient flow through the site by escorting patients between tests and exam rooms
• Prepare patient, laptop and exam room for physician
• Clean and prepare surgical trays
• Maintain flow of patients and prioritize tasks accordingly
• Interacts in a professional, collaborative manner with other teammates
• Accepts and performs responsibilities in a positive manner
