Self-Help started in 1980 with a focus on economic inequality especially in communities that have faced systemic barriers in building wealth. WHAT You’ll Do:
- Actively helping lead strategy sessions and collaborating as a part of a nationwide team.
- Researching and identifying target audiences and pro-actively identifying media opportunities for specific locations and projects,
- Helping identify issues and experts to develop and maintain a “speaker’s bureau” of subject matter experts and identifying and creating opportunities for experts and issues to be highlighted.
- Drafting press releases, e-newsletters, bios, op-eds, feature articles, mailers, blogs, etc.
- Efficiently researching industry trends, editorial calendars and gathering other relevant information for planning and evaluation.
- Maintaining and updating media center on Self-Help internal and external facing websites
WHAT You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Marketing or other related field OR equivalent related experience.
- 3-years of experience working with public relations and media.
- PRSA membership with APR status is preferred.
- Experience using media monitoring platforms, including Cision, Meltwater, Lexus Nexis, or Trendkite
- Bi-lingual speaker is a plus
