Seeking a full-time Portfolio Accountant position with a terrific Real Estate Investment Firm? This position can offer you strong compensation, excellent benefits, and career advancement. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Dallas, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded. You will succeed in this position if you have the ability to complete investment level reporting, review financial reports from the management company and monitor cash needs (fundings, distributions, forecasting.) Participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits and reviewing reporting processes are also expected tasks. We're looking for people who have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.Major responsibilities
- Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
- Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
- Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
- Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
- Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
- Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
- Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
- MRI, Excel
- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
- Bachelors in Accounting with CPA
- Recent and relevant accounting experience
- Public Audit experience
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
