Job description

McDermott is a high-end pool cue manufacturer looking for a technician in our Finishing Department. The ideal candidate would have experience in manufacturing with emphasis on a paint finishing background and the experience of using HVLP spray guns. The right individual with other abilities suitable to our processes that show ability to learn quickly and catch on could be trained for this position.

Job Duties:

• Operate manual engine lathe doing turning, facing operations and hand-sanding of pool cues

• Quality check products for visual defects and dimensional accuracy
• Operate vertical belt sander
• Hand stain the wood on pool cues
• Apply decals
• Meet required daily production goals
• Operate an automated spray booth, along with hand spraying in a separate booth
• Keeping all work stations well maintained and clean

Required Skills:

• Read and understand a tape measure
• Ability to use a dial caliper
• Hand/eye coordination skills
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work well with co-workers in a team-orientated atmosphere and take constructive criticism to better your performance when necessary

• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day and start work on time
• Ability to work overtime when necessary

Work Criteria:

• 1st shift
• Full-time: Monday through Friday, 8+ hour shifts
• Some Saturdays may be required
• After introductory period, benefits available

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
