Table Mountain Rancheria Police Department has an immediate opening for a Dispatch Officer. This is a full-time position with benefits.Must be willing and able to work weekends, holidays, day, swing, or nightshift. Job Summary: This job is responsible for receiving complaints from the public concerning police emergencies and orders to police units to investigate the situation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives police and business inquiries and routes them accordingly
- Assists with the maintenance of daily radio and incident logs
- Determines the nature,location, and priority of all police fire, ambulance calls and then relays the information to the on duty units
- Transmits and receives messages between divisions of the Table Mountain Rancheria Police Department And other law enforcement agencies
- Maintains a high level of security of the front entrance to the Rancheria by only allowing designated guests and employees to enter
- Contacts police officers to verify assignment locations, monitor their locations, and serve as liaison with individuals calling to seek assistance
Education/Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school unless otherwise waived by Tribal Council as based on determined experience and accomplishments Three (3) to six (6) months related experience as well as other relevant education or work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of multi-phone systems to identify, assess, and provide a solution toa problem Ability to provide directions to multiple people Ability todemonstrate good judgment and discretion in stressful situations Skilled in communicating to small and large groups Final candidate will need to pass an extensive backgrounds investigation
