ABOUT BRUCE & MERRILEES - ESTIMATOR/PROJ MANAGER

As an Estimator/PM in our Perrysburg Office, you will support our estimating/bidding efforts for the Western region for our ESG Group. You are a valuable part of our success, collaborating with the team throughout our company footprint to deliver "Beyond the Expected" results.
Some of the Work You'll Do:
- Estimate site grading, drilled pier and slab foundations
- Read and understand plans/specifications, and develop complete cost estimates for projects
- Prepare bids for projects with little to no input
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
- Perform quantity take-off's
- Build bid item work breakdown structures
- Estimate project costs through the culmination of gathered data
- Review estimates with Senior Management
- Attend and run project hand-off meetings with the project management team
- Attend project close-out meetings and incorporate lessons learned into future estimates
- Develop productive relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and engineering firms in pursuit of work opportunities
- Estimate and manage the project from concept to completion
- Manage a team, build a project plan, and delegate assignments
- Manage projects including project set-up, budgeting, scheduling, cost projections, contract interpretation, change order quotes, staffing, and close-out
- Responsible for timely procurement and delivery of appropriate materials including reviewing quotes/bill of material, issue material releases, monitor material usage, expedite material delivery and arrange for returns
- Assist and support the project foreman and superintendent
- Responsible for safety, productivity, schedule and profit and loss
- Other duties as assigned
Here's What You Need:
- Associate/Bachelor's degree OR civil estimating/project management experience
- 3+ years of experience in the civil construction industry
- Firm understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and firm understanding on how to use estimating software.
- Drive to learn, grow and obtain necessary education and certifications to further career development
- Ability to interact productively with both office and field team members
- Excellent customer service and communication (verbal/written) skills
- Ability to travel a few times per month, as needed, with occasional overnights
