Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) is seeking a Principle Engineer to continue strong customer collaboration as well as maintain in-depth engineering disciplines. This position will participate in no less than four Integrated Planning Teams (IPT) with customer representation in each to ensure a standardized approach toward problem solving and budgetary analysis is applied within each IPT. Position will also maintain status, awareness and provide guidance on execution of customer and Lockheed Martin-driven proper engineering processes. Position will also oversee implementation of the Certified Test Conductor (CTC) program within PLSSS at a timing and tempo determined by the Site Lead. This position will also coordinate analysis activities and products with functional group leads, senior management, and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree (Engineering or Math discipline preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Current, active TS/SCI (with Polygraph preferred, but ability to obtain is required).
  • In-depth experience with intricate and complex propellant loading systems and procedures tailored to Office of Space Launch (OSL) needs.
  • In-depth experience with satellite Payload Transport System (PTS) design, maintenance and operational use.
  • Able to foster and facilitate complex design efforts and relay recommendations to government customer(s) and government programs.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Radio Frequency Detection and Correlation System (RFCDS) design, operation, procedure development and operational planning for disbursement.
  • Deep knowledge and implementation of Lightening Monitoring System(s) for use during mission execution.
  • Able to demonstrate theory of application/installation; able to facilitate troubleshooting discussions on behalf and with government customers.
  • Strong understanding of Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) development and implementation, proven capability to educate less experienced engineers on theory and implementation of ATP.
Desired Skills:
  • Strong, historical experience with Vandenberg Space Force Base facilities and infrastructure.
  • Ability to coordinate with Air Force Laboratories to facilitate propellant sample processing.
  • Deep knowledge of National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Vandenberg NROV) facilities.
  • In-depth understanding of NROV campus re-alignment plans and implementation phases.
  • Demonstrated ability to host meeting with the intent of problem solving.
  • Green Belt certification.
  • Posses cross-functional engineering experience including requirements, design, configuration management, test, verification and manufacturing.
  • Plan and execute programs on a fixed-priced budget. Properly analyze and prioritize required purchases against operational need and schedule; execute baseline management.
  • Experience working with Control Account Manager (CAM) to forecast budgets for OSL capabilities.
